Metallica won their first Grammy Award in 1990 for "One", winning Best Metal Performance. "One" was written in November, 1987 by Metallica's principal composers — rhythm guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. The song was released in 1989 as the second single taken from the album (the first being "Harvester of Sorrow"). Before any music begins, there is a series of sound effects with a battle theme for the first 17 seconds of the track; an artillery barrage is heard and continues slightly after the music begins. The song starts off with a clean tone guitar intro by Hetfield before Kirk Hammett comes in over the top of Hetfield with a clean-toned solo. The song speeds up after Ulrich's drums come in and continues until each chorus, when the guitars become heavy ...

Quick Guitar part - 7 Easy Steps to Learn Guitar Songs Using Your Computer

Playing the guitar is a great way to pass the time and practice your creative juices. It get's even more fun when you move beyond the stage of learning to play the chords, to learning to play actual songs. If you are a beginner, it may be easier than you think to move to the stage of learning any song you want. It's as easy as 7 easy steps and 3 or so tools on your computer to learn any song. This record outlines a great formula to use right away!

Step 1- Before you even Begin to attempt figuring out a song from scratch, your guitar must be in tune! Actually, it must well be in tune, and not just in tune with itself. No qoute if you don't have a tuner, just Google "online guitar tuners" and tune it there. Otherwise, tune with your electronic tuner. Enchanting on...

Step 2- Open iTunes, or the place where you can listen to the song on your computer. Start the song and listen to the first few seconds.

Step 3- Open a guitar tablature website and look up the song you want to learn. Just Google "free guitar tabs" and choose a site.

Step 4- Now take a moment and learn all the chords for the starting of the song. Do you know how to play each chord or is it a chord you don't know? No? No problem...just Google "guitar chord finder", or "guitar chord builder" and choose a website. Enter the chord name that is on the tablature and there you go!

Step 5- Feasibility check...Did this man do a good job of manufacture the song tablature? Many tabs are wholly wrong, but most of them are pretty spot on, just choose someone else version of the tab if it seems wrong.

Step 6- Learn the rest of the song in increments, all the time starting from the starting and adding more and more of the song as you go. As you get better, you can simply listen to the song, open up the tab site and play along with the tab by "site reading" it.

Step 7- Memorization process...Now try and memorize the song and play along with it instead of having the crutch of the guitar tab.

There you have a fool proof formula for learning any song you want anytime. You can obviously check out YouTube versions of how habitancy play songs as well. For some songs YouTube will work, others...no way. So now you see that learning guitar can come to be so easy when you make the computer your free teacher!

Tuning Your Guitar

As a beginner, it's good to get into the habit of tuning your guitar by ear rather than with an electronic tuner. This helps build your musical hearing as well as not leaving you in a fix when you're in a situation where no one brought a pocket tuner and you need to get your guitar in tune quickly. There are many methods for putting your guitar in approved tuning, yet the beloved "fifth fret method" and harmonic variations are the most useful and simplest.

In order to use the fifth fret recipe properly, one places one finger on the "E" string (the lowest) on the fifth fret and plucks it first while speedily plucking the next string up (the next-highest string, or "A" string). This second string should be plucked open (not being touched in any place on the fingerboard). Adjust the tuner for the open string until both strings emit the same pitch when plucked together. Continue doing this for each string piquant up the fifth fret. For example, place one finger on the fifth fret, "A" string and pluck that one while also plucking the open "D" string and adjusting the tuner for the "D" string until it and the "A" string also have the same pitch when plucked in tandem.

Tuner Guitar

Tuning this way becomes a miniature involved when you make your way up to the "G" and "B" strings. When tuning the "B" string, place your finger on the fourth fret of the "G" string--not the fifth fret--before tuning the open "B" appropriately. This is due to a phenomenon known as the "B-string barrier," but what's foremost is that you become accustomed to tuning the "B" string in this fashion. When tuning the high "E" string at the top, the "B" string is first plucked on the fifth fret before the open "E" as per usual.

Another recipe used to get your guitar in tune without an electronic tuner is to use harmonics on the twelfth fret while plucking private notes on the seventh fret and adjusting your tuners as needed. For example, if you pluck a harmonic over the twelfth fret on your low "E" string--achieved by just touching the string over the twelfth fret, but not pressing down on it--and speedily pluck a note on your "A" string on the seventh fret so that each note--the harmonic and the actual note--are heard simultaneously, you will know either each string is in tune by either the pitches match. Adjust the strings accordingly before piquant up the twelfth fret for each string. When you get to the "G" and "B" strings, you must again consider the B-sting fence and pluck the "B" string on the eighth fret rather than the seventh to be sure it is in tune. Whichever recipe you use--the fifth fret recipe or harmonics--you will assist your ear in recognizing separate pitches and the sounds of separate notes. This is a skill that will become requisite as you begin emulating the styles of others and, subsequently, creating your own compositions.

Tesseract - Sunrise [Guitar/Drums]

Tesseract - Sunrise [Guitar/Drums] Video Clips. Duration : 3.33 Mins.

Watch this in HD: www.youtube.com www.vimeo.com Hey guys. After some googling I found out how to get the HD link to appear on youtube. Now you don't have to click the vimeo-link to watch my videos in HD anymore ^^ I'll leave the other video of this cover (that only have the "high quality"-link) up so you can see the difference. Here it is: www.youtube.com I actually rendered this in two different formats. The other one looked and sounded a little bit better, but started to lagg when the drums came in. I ahve no idea why. But this one looks/sounds pretty good too. M
