Tune Guitar To Keyboard - 11

Tune Guitar To Keyboard - 11 Video Clips. Duration : 7.95 Mins.

How to tune your guitar by using a keyboard or a piano. Start out with low E on the piano. Make sure you have LOW E. Play Low E on the piano and then play the 6th string open on your guitar. Now, just tighten or loosen the 6th string of your guitar to match the Low E on the piano. For the next key just count up 4 keys including Low E. So, you would count EFGA....1-2-3-4.....Now you can tune the 5th string or the A string of your guitar. Next, count up 4 white keys from A......ABCD.....1-2-3-4. Now you can tune the 4th string of your guitar which is the D string. Do the same thing as you did before. Count up 4 white keys from D...starting with D......DEFG....1-2-3-4....Now you can tune the 3rd string of your guitar which is G to the G key on your keyboard. Here is where the RULE changes. At this point, count up ONLY 3 white keys starting with the G......GAB.....1-2-3. Now match the 2nd string B to the keyboard B. Here is the last step. Go back to your rule of counting 4 keys. Start with B and count 4 keys up: BCDE....1-2-3-4. Now just repeat the same process and match up the open 1st string E on your guitar with the E on the keyboard. Be very careful at this point. To not tighten your E string to tight. Pay attention. You could easily over tighten the 1st string and it will snap in half. I've done it many, many times over the last 40 years.

Bass Guitar Tuning - Is studying How to Tune a Bass Guitar So Hard?

If you already play the guitar and know how to tune it, why do you need a special tutorial for learning how to tune a bass guitar? The reply is in the sound of the bass guitar. It is so low it is very difficult for some citizen to judge either or not their guitar is in tune. So let us take a look at the bass guitar and some methods of tuning it.

Bass guitarists have proved themselves to be such innovators that there is now an wonderful range of bass guitars with dissimilar numbers of strings and a range of tuning options to widen the range of notes produced. For the purposes of this tutorial we will stick with the original four string bass guitar. It is tuned to one octave lower than the thorough guitar.

Tuner Guitar

Most guitar players seem to agree that the best way to begin tuning a guitar is to start with the guitar strings tuned lower than you want them to be and then tune them Up to the precise pitch. in fact it is a good idea to start with the strings a lot lower than they need to be so you do not over-tighten them and run the risk of a broken string.

Let us look at the basic tuning formula first. Tuning the bass guitar to a piano or keyboard. Find Middle C and go down two octaves. Got that C note? Okay, find the E below that. This is your note to tune the fourth string of your bass guitar. Play the open fourth string and the E on your piano at the same time. If you hear a sound vaguely like the noise a helicopter makes, your guitar is out of tune. Turn the tuning peg on your bass guitar as you play the guitar and the keyboard together, and listen to the "helicopter" sound. It will slow down as your guitar becomes in tune with the keyboard, and will eventually vanish. Repeat this process for your A, D and G strings.

Another tuning formula you need to learn is to get the E string as close to tuned as you can and tune the other strings accordingly. Play the note at the fifth fret of the E string together with the open A string. Once these two notes are the same, play the fifth fret of the A string at the same time as the open D string. When the D string sounds the same as the fifth fret of the A string, move onto playing the fifth fret of the D string and tune the open G string to that. Now your bass guitar is in tune.

You can also tune the bass guitar to itself using harmonics. Touch your finger lightly on the fifth fret of the E string without pressing down. You will hear a chiming note. Now play this harmonic again but at the same time playing the harmonic at the seventh fret of the A string. Tune the A string till it matches the harmonic on the E string. Now play the fifth fret harmonic on the A string and match the seventh fret harmonic on the D string to that. Next, match the seventh fret harmonic on the G string with the fifth fret harmonic on the D string.

Lastly, and most in fact is the electronic tuning method. Electronic tuners have a optical guide to tell you when your guitar is sounding the right note. For the sake of your maturity as a guitar player you should first convention at tuning the bass guitar using one or all of the other methods, then check it with an electronic tuner. You can buy an electronic tuner at a music store or online. You can even do a hunt for online bass guitar tuners.

How to Use a Guitar Tuner

A guitar tuner is an overwhelming help to guitarists of all stages of expertise. Every guitarist should learn how to use a tuner early in his career. They are small and contract and will come to your aid when your ear is too tired and emotional to tune your guitar with any accuracy. For many of us, tuning the guitar is more difficult than playing it, and a lot of time is wasted at gigs and during lessons trying to tune up by ear.

The notes on the open strings of your instrument are E A D G B E. Guitar tuners come in any different forms and make the work of tuning easier to varying degrees.

Tuner Guitar

Although a guitar player tuning his axe by ear might look cool, the fact is that nobody's ear is as good as a decent electronic tuner. You could forget all about trying to train your ear altogether and just make sure your tuner goes everywhere that you and your guitar go.

An electronic tuner tells the guitarist if the note he is playing on each open string of his instrument is at the exact frequency. Electronic guitar tuners can vary greatly in price but the most costly is not necessarily the best. Some tuners are just Leds you can carry on stage with you if you are worried about your instrument's capacity to stay in tune, and some are sophisticated adequate to be able to tune many different instruments.

There are many guitar tuners available online that naturally sound the notes that correspond to the open strings of the guitar and the player has to use his ear to match his instrument to the sound of the tuner.

There are also tuners that are available as free downloads from the internet. Some of these have any different displays to help you tune up accurately, and some allow you to tune to varied alternate tunings. Learning how to use a guitar tuner of this type would be a good move for any student guitarist.

Low priced guitar tuners that you can buy at music shop use a similar formula but the difference is that they ordinarily also have a needle that will tell you how close your tuning is. There are some slightly more costly guitar tuners that do a similar job but have a best ability display. Sometimes on a dark stage, that is important.

You could also get yourself a guitar tuner that clips onto your instrument and "feels" the vibrations arrival through when the open strings are being played. Although it is not possible for us to hear the comparison with this kind of tuner, the effect is a little best than with your basic Led display and getting to know how to use this kind of guitar tuner is a little easier.

Textures - Laments of an Icarus (guitar cover)

Textures - Laments of an Icarus (guitar cover) Tube. Duration : 4.30 Mins.

Guitar cover of Textures - Laments of an Icarus from their Silhouettes album. ESP LTD SC607B (27in) Lundgren M7 in the bridge. No pickup in the neck, so there's just an empty cavity. Thinking of a Q-Tuner. Tone is from Revalver MKIII. Patch is uber simple. Stock tube screamer with tone up a little and a tiny amount of drive (0.2) into a tweaked regular 6505. Tweaks are simple: increased input voltage into first preamp stage, switched out the last poweramp tube for an EL34, and changed the power supply to 'ideal power supply'. This is all loaded up in Logic Pro 8 and I used Space Designer to load up a cab impulse instead of within Revalver itself. Impulse is Red Wirez Marshall 1960A G12M with SM57. I also stuck on a LPF filter to roll of the high-end shrillness. This is a free plugin called Elysia Niveau. Check it out, it sounds really nice. Video was recorded using my Macbook's iSight camera, and the framerate sucks so it makes it seem like audio and video are out of sync or misaligned. I uploaded the video with lossless audio rather than have YouTube re-encode lossy audio into even more lossy audio, which sounds terrible. The audio quality has still suffered quite badly in my opinion. Enjoy. :)
